We are selling out fast and due to limited fabric availability (and our lack of time!) we won’t be able to replace the Halloween Prints as they sell through, so please order now to avoid disappointment!

We know there are delays with the post, we know that it’s frustrating, but there is beggar all we can do about it I’m afraid.

Sadly, we have had loads of parcels go missing, which means we are doubly busy at Hammocky HQ, having to replace these missing orders, and bearing in mind each item is custom made to order, this takes time.

To improve the chances of your order turning up on your, albeit a little delayed, we highly recommend you take us up on the Enhanced Postage that we offer on our website. This means that your order can be tracked and therefore a lot less likely to get lost.

If you stick with our Free Standard Delivery – please be warned – it can take up to 6 weeks to replace items should they go missing, and if you have ordered from one of our limited editions we may not be able to replace it all

Unlike some online retailers*, we are more than happy to replace / refund your item, but as already said this does take some time and whilst we are wrangling with the Royal Fail over your lost order, we would really appreciate your patience

* It seems that some online retailers (Ebay being the worst for it) are refusing refunds/replacements when stuff goes missing in the post – this is very naughty and against the DSR. If  you are told this by any retailer you need to point out that under the Distance Selling Regulations they owe you either a refund or a replacement!

I had a lovely email from Anna at the Wheek & Squeek Guinea Pig Rescue last week to let me know how much the recent HH Donation had helped her and the Piggies.

I thought it only fair to share the good news with you guys as without your generous orders for hammocks we wouldn’t have had the funds to send in the first place, so a big thank you from me too – keep ‘em coming!

Anna’s Email is below, and since then I’ve had a further update to let me know that Billy has a new Human lined up, which is great news for Billy but bad news for me as I was busy dusting off a cage at Hammocky HQ!

Hi Sarah

I had four boars neutered yesterday who had been here a for some time. With your generous donations they will now have a chance of finding a friend and a home of their own.

Thank you Sarah your donations help us so much. This is Billy, one of the boars neutered, who will now be able to have a lady friend.

The funkiest way to keep your Critters Cooool during this ridiculously hot weather!

I’ve just made a mini mountain of Can Cozees for all of you who freeze tins of veg to use as safe ice blocks for your small animals, and these will be available to buy from Friday.

The Can Cozees brighten up the cage or run, make the cans a lot more snuggly whilst remaining cool, but not so cold that they are likely to induce pneumonia, and of course as they are made out of Fleece they prevent any condensation escaping, so no more soggy Critters!

If you are unfamiliar with this concept, read on!

We all panic about our Furry Friends as the weather heats up and it can be a real nightmare finding suitable cooling options for them. One of the best ways of creating a cool spot in the cage, without worrying about them chewing through plastic ice blocks or bottles, is to freeze tins of veg. It works out much cheaper than buying ice blocks, and as they are metal they are much safer than putting gel filled plastic anything in the cage with the animals with the big teeth!

This works really well and unlike large plastic bottles the tins are a much more Chin or Pig Friendly size.

1. Buy lots of El Cheapo Beans (or anything else cheap so long as the tins contents are quite dense)
2. Remove paper labels and glue remnants from your tins
3. Stick as many tins as you can into your Freezer
4. Wait for them to freeze until solid (leave overnight)
5. Pop the freshly frozen tin in one of our Funky Can Cozees
6. As soon as a can is losing it’s cool, you can just stick it back in the Freezer and replace with a fresh one as these can be repeatedly refrozen

You can put the tin cans straight into the cage without anything on them as they are perfectly Critter proof but you might find that the your Furry Friends aren’t that interested and those that are are likely to get a bit soggy from the condensation.
