Have you ever tried to contact us and not received a response? I know there must be quite a few of you nodding because when we respond to your email we get bounced! And as the only means we have of contacting you is the email address you offer us that leaves us up a rather muddy creek sans paddle!
Why does this happen?
Simple.
Spam Filters.
This is something that is completely outside of our control and unfortunately there is nothing that we are able to do about it.
To get a better idea as to how Spam Filters work have a look at this eye opening article.
Due to the nature of the enquiries we receive, our responses are quite likely to make use of the so called ‘trigger’ words such as visit our website and information you requested etc.
However in an attempt to make things a bit easier for the customers out there that are feeling unloved and ignored I have compiled a list of the Mail Providers [below] that we have had particular problems with.
Hotmail
Gmail
Yahoo BTinternet
TalkTalk
AOL
Any School / College / Gov / Work organisation (these types of email usually have a localised Filter in place to stop you using your email for anything other than work / school /college (spoilsports!))
What can you do?
Not a lot! The obvious answer would be to change to a different email provider, however this isn’t the most practical solution for most!
Getting into the habit of checking your Spam / Bulk Mail folder on a regular basis might help but will only be useful if our Email has got that far of course – your service provider might have binned us at Server level !!
When getting in touch with us, if using one of the above providers, it may also help to offer us an alternative email or means of contact.
Hopefully this article will help to explain a few things, especially for those of you have never heard back from us despite our best efforts!
