A Sad Weekend at Hammocky HQ

Thank you to everyone for your kind thoughts and wishes over the last 6 weeks, I wish this post could have been a happier one, but sadly Pimple passed away on Sunday morning

It’s still all a bit too raw for me to type much more than that, maybe I’ll feel better after a few nights sleep, but right now I’m still on Pimple-time and thinking about when her next meds are due, or washing her bedding or prepping her Veggies for supper … and then everything comes crashing down when I realise she isn’t with us anymore.

Thank you again to everyone for your support. HH will be back up and running soon, I just need a bit of time.

Have you found us on Twitter yet?

For those of you that have managed to avoid the recent press coverage of  Twitter and are wondering what the hecky peck it is, it’s basically a micro blogging tool. There are squillions of interesting peeps on there, and we’ve made many new friends and found some old ones too!

One of the things that I find enthralling about  Twitter is that you bump into people in the public eye, be they writers, actors, comedians etc, who happily tweet away about their days, post photos, and generally take control of their own press. I suspect this deliciously simple tool and ‘right to reply’ must be a lovely poke in the eye for the tabloids

Simply put, when I’m busy sewing and the pink mist descends I sometimes, ever so very occasionally, once in a while make mistakes. These mistakes might be something as simple as a cocked up colour /pattern combo or a clip that is slightly misplaced, an edge that hasn’t turned as neatly as I’d hoped – nothing that means the hammock won’t work as a hammock, but  it does of course mean it won’t pass Mister Chewys strict Quality Control.

So I’m sat here, slightly glum, holding homeless  hammock, with the laptop right next to me and a Twitter window open – so I figure it would be a nice gift to offer to one of my Twitter buddies

Waiting for Washbags?

The Hammocky Washbags are making their re-appearance shortly and I’ve added a few new additions to the range

We’ve had lots of requests for bigger bags from all those Piggy Slaves who have switched to Fleece Bedding, and these will be making an appearance shortly.

Getting There!

Things are looking a lot more positive here at Hammocky HQ as Pimple Piggy is perking up a bit and I’ve managed a few days of uninterrupted sewing 
A whole bunch of orders were dispatched today and the rest will follow over the next few days. The 7ft mountain of fleece that has been threatening to bury me now looks a lot less daunting than it did, and should it topple I’ll only be waist deep in it instead of looking for a shovel!

Rebooting 2009

As you may have seen from our previous post, we have had the King of Crappy starts to 2009, and therefore have decided that as of today, March 1st, we are starting afresh

Soooo Happy New Year to you all!  This means that today is technically our New Years Day , so we will be busy clearing up the mess of last year in readiness to start work first thing in the morning, hangover and hassle free!

• Our first priority is to catch up on our Order Book, and make sure all delayed orders are dispatched ASAP.
• When we’ve caught up with the orders our next task is to update the store with all the New Goodies, and those old favourites that have been missing for a few months too!A bit of good news for all of those of you who are after some of our unique Waterproof Play Mats and Lap Blankets … we not only have them coming in this month BUT due to a new supplier and an improved design they are now a much more pocket friendly price
• Freebie Friday will be back up and running as of Friday 6th of March
• When we’ve accomplished all that, we may even have time to start our 5th Birthday celebrations

And finally, when we are all caught up with the above, I have the super icky task of having to contact a couple of chaps & chapesses who seem to be using my designs without my permission more about that later!
