Hammocky Halloween!

The Hammocky Halloween Website is now open!!!

Unfortunately our Hammocky Human is currently indisposed, so our Halloween range is slightly diminished this year and we only have a very limited stock available, so if you see something you like snap it up quickly before it sells out!

New Hammocky Accessory due October!

A bit later than planned, but keep an eye on the website around mid October for the release of our funky new Hammocky Hay Duffle!

  • No more ugly plastic hay sacks!
  • No more worries about sweaty Hay!
  • The Hammocky Hay Duffle has (nearly) arrived!

Coming to a Web Browser near you soon …

Nearly There! Light At The End Of The Tunnel :o)

Wooohoo! The majority of delayed orders are going out this afternoon, and the remainder will follow on Monday. I’ve had to stop for the day as the sewing machine is making those scary warning noises that suggest it may go on strike, unless I give it a day off! Mind you I’ve been making similar noises for over a week but thus far have been able to rejuvinate myself with the aid of the miracle of Coffee (and Red Bull, and Proplus and … )

Whilst the sewing machine has been enjoying it’s *cool down* periods, I’ve been slowly working my way through the backlog of emails but think we might be missing a few, so if you haven’t heard from us, please get back in touch !

Orders permitting I’ll be taking a break from mid September and then re-opening the shop on the 1st of October with all manner of Monsterific Halloween Goodies, which we luckily had the foresight to organise way back in March!

Little Brambles Update

Little Brambles has been very busy over the past few weeks, quite a few of the pigs have been rehomed which was great. We’ve received a lot of updates on their progress and of course photos of them settling in. It’s really satisfying to see them go off to a new family and although many of them are timid to begin with it doesn’t take the piggies long to realise who brings the veggies. Updates on piggies progress is always welcome and makes up the better side of rescue, so if you haven’t updated your rescue recently on your pigs welfare I’m sure they would love to hear from you – just as we do here at LB.

Because some of them have now been rehomed it has meant that the many we had on our waiting list have now started to come here into the rescue. Sadly, some of them are either very elderly or ill or both, which means that they will retire here. A lovely lady who recently adopted a guinea pig from us made a generous donation which will fund another retirement hutch for two little sows aged 5 that have just come in. It’s not all about money though, time to look after the piggies is essential so once again we will not be taking in anymore pigs until everyone is settled and nobody needs hand feeding or medication. It’s a very time consuming but important role and if we have an overwhelming number of pigs here then nobody gets the care they deserve.

HH informs us that we have a few donations of blankets made, we hope to receive them very soon but in the meantime THANK YOU to the very kind people who donated them. I don’t know who you are yet but Sarah will let me know in due course, she’s incredibly busy sewing to raise funds for the rescues. We are very grateful for any contribution – it’s nice to know we have support out there.

Anyway, the colder nights will be with us soon. WE don’t rehome to people who keep their piggies outside all year round but we are realistic enough to realise that many people do. In order to help you there are lots of winter care tips to read about on our website – we hope your piggies may benefit from the information we have put together. I think the main point is to plan ahead, start thinking about it now whilst we still have some sunshine hanging around. Lots of people have room in a shed/summerhouse/utility room for the hutch if only they tidied it up and got rid of the clutter. Even a disused Wendy House is better then nothing. So get your thinking caps on and THINK PIGGIES!! Let’s hope we have a nice September though with some sunshine.

Our love to your piggies xx

Perfect Piggy Bedding – New & Improved!

After more than 2 years in development and a lot of trial and error we think we’ve cracked it!

We finally have a product that ticks all the boxes we need it too, plus a few more! We are happy and so are the Piggies (spoilt little furbags so they are!!).

  • Washable and long lasting (kinder to the environment and your pocket)
  • Heavyweight so less likely to have ’speedbumps’ (burrowing piggies!)
  • Warm, Comfy and Hygienic
  • Soft under foot and kind to poorly paws
  • Available in any shape or size
  • Available in a myriad of colours and patterns

When we first started using Fleece as an alternative bedding in our C&C cages, it wasn’t long before we started to tinker with it, along with the help of the sewing machine, to try and make it more practical for every day usage.

Endorsed by T-Spoon ~ She thinks it's so comfy she'd rather lie on the carpet than her hammock!

Initially we developed a type of Fleecy Sandwich which worked well enough for a couple of years, until one of the Hammocky Piggies stuck up her paw during a Development Meeting and made a few suggestions regarding her comfort as she was getting older!

We took her suggestions on board, had a further tinkering session and have now come up with the best alternative we can find to Vet Bed, another type of good bedding providing your Piggies don’t eat it!

We can supply this bedding in any shape or size required, Tailor Made to fit your cage perfectly.

The Complete Piggy Bedding Set© will be available to order shortly, if you would like more information, please get in touch with us via our Contact Form.
