Order Delays

Following on from the previous entry, having made as much use of the Bank Holiday weekend as I could, we are still a fair way off catching up with ourselves yet :( To enable us to get back on schedule, ideally I’d like to close the shop for a week, which is easier said than done when your PC is still in bits!!

What’s The Plan Stan?

The shop will remain open BUT …

  • Any orders recieved after 1pm today (27/08/08) will not be processed until Monday, you are still more than welcome to place orders, but they will take a few days longer than usual
  • I won’t be able to accept any custom orders for a couple of weeks.
  • All enquiries will be dealt with as quickly as possible, but if you don’t recieve an immediate response, please don’t worry !

Hopefully this will give us enough respite to catch up with everything and get back on track, and it will give me chance to remove the Sledgehammer from the side of this PC, and start the laborious task of rebuilding and reinstalling it properly.

The stress is getting to all of us, the usually calm, tranquil, laid back atmosphere at Hammocky HQ is all spiky and icky at the moment … it’s even effected Austin, the most laid back Piggy in the world, who as you can see from the photo below, has completely forgotten how to use her Bed she’s so stressed out!!

Normal Service Will Be Resumed Shortly …

(I hope!!)

Oh Crap!

It’s not been much fun at Hammocky HQ this past few weeks but Today has just about finished me off! :| I’ve been proper poorly and unable to do much in the way of sewing, let alone having the concentration span to deal with any enquiries but luckily felt a bit better towards the end of last week, so spent most of last weekend working round the clock to try and catch up with orders.

Sadly it appears my motor was in better nick than that of my beleaguered sewing machine which after about 10 hours of continuous sewing on day 3 just said enough was enough and promptly went up in smoke.

No sewing machine = panic !

Then, this morning my PC decided to attempt the dying swan act at me, it’s bloody lucky it didnt’ get drop kicked out the window!! :| Just as well I have a spare! But of course it’s going to take a while to sort this spare PC out …

No (working) HH PC = panic!

So …

No working Sewing Machine  + No PC

=

Nervous Breakdown!

But …

Lynne can deal with most of the HH enquiries on her lovely working PC, but if you are waiting to hear back regarding a custom order then that’s my domain and of course at the moment might prove a little tricky!

And at least  I have managed to track down a spare motor for the machine and she’s getting herself fixed tomorrow so most orders will hopefully be completed and go out over the weekend and early next week.

Providing my health and my sanity hold up Hammocky HQ might even get back to normal next week!

Although I’m beginning to think that our version of ‘normal’ is anything but!

Have you tried to get in touch with us in the last week or so?
If you have and you haven’t received a reply please try again, as Lynne will still be able to recieve emails and then respond.

Are you waiting for an order to turn up?
All customer orders that have been effected by the recent problems have been notified via email, please check your registered PayPal Email (or whichever email address you gave us) for updates :)

If you have placed an order, not heard from us and it hasn’t turned up within the alloted time (please check your order confirmations) get in touch with us via the contact form on our website making sure to include all the details of your original order :)

New Washbags!

After weeks of promising new designs, I finally found some time to update our Wash Bag selection.
I unplugged the phone, disconnected the door buzzer, stuck my headphones on and locked myself in the sewing room on Sunday and managed to complete a pretty impressive pile of Wash Bags, which were then photographed and uploaded to the website.
All the designs currently available are ready made and will shortly feature in our Ready 2 Go (R2G) range. when I find a precious 5 minutes to update it!

Whilst busily sewing on Sunday my mind went off on a little wander as is usual, and I got to thinking about other uses for the Wash Bags given the recent useful hints and tips from customers, I became inspired and without ruining any surprises, keep an eye on the Blog for a new Hammocky Accessory due in September!

Little Brambles Update

With all the miserable weather we have been having it’s not been much fun for the piggies here – no time on lawn mowing duties. However, we will be trimming the hazel hedge very shortly so they will all have lots of hazel sticks to keep them busy. We are still picking small amounts of grass for them of course but it isn’t quite the same as “pick your own”.

We have had a a few enquiries about piggies which of course are always welcome. Willow and her three babies are now reserved which is just fantastic news for both them and us here at the rescue. Whilst we love having babies here it’s always sad if they do all their growing up in rescue. As it is, the two baby boars are going to a lovely family who will enjoy watching them grow and blossom under their care and Willow and her daughter Parsley will be joining a neutered boar I rehomed several months ago to a local family. All being well they should all be joining their new families early September. Willow needs to put on quite a bit of weight though, she was such a good mum but I’m afraid it has taken it’s toll on her. The boys have come away from her now so we hope she can settle and concentrate on getting fit herself.

I’ve had a few queries regarding hutches over the past few weeks. The pet shop bought ones are quite appalling really and as it will be the pigs home for many years to come it really does need careful consideration. On our website under photo albums there are some great examples of home made piggie homes that are worth looking at.

The right housing is essential for the welfare of the pigs, investing some time and effort into getting the right one cannot be overstated. Shop around on the internet, there are some really good deals. Many people seem to get “dad” to make them and these are often the most spacious and sturdy. Don’t just get the first thing that you see and take advice from other piggie owners. Forget anything small – go for the biggest you can find and afford.

Well let’s hope that the summer arrives soon, someone mentioned Christmas to me today – that really is tooooo scarey!!!
